Abstract

Sustainability, as a long-term concern about environmental, commercial, and social issues that affect the well-being of humans and the environment, and the need for its implementation in engineering has been highlighted in the last decades. New concepts such as Green and Sustainable have penetrated most planning and engineering fields. Transferring especially roadways, are being one of the great gateways of outflow, they are under huge awareness of surrounding codification. Roadway adaptations are mostly plan based on short-term estimation minimization. However, the need for adopting a long-term perspective in the design process is that incorporates other useful factors such as the overall amount of fuel usage and accidents cost in the road lifetime is becoming self-evident.
