Abstract

Ensuring clean water resources is vital for human well-being and ecosystem sustainability. Recent advancements in water quality monitoring technologies and pollution control strategies have significantly enhanced our ability to address water pollution challenges. This review explores the latest developments in water quality monitoring, including sensor technologies, remote sensing, and data analytics, enabling real-time detection of pollutants. Innovative pollution control approaches such as green infrastructure, advanced treatment technologies, and microbial remediation are discussed for their effectiveness in mitigating contamination. Challenges including emerging pollutants, aging infrastructure, and climate change impacts are highlighted, emphasizing the need for integrated solutions. By combining technological innovation, policy interventions, and public engagement, we can effectively safeguard our water resources for future generations.
