Abstract

The job involvement of employees in the organization is critical to the success of any firm. This study aims to investigate the effects of organizational commitment on job involvement in the banking sector in Ludhiana, as well as whether gender and age have any significant difference on job involvement and organizational commitment. A sample of 100 respondents from 2 public sector (Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India) and 2 private sector banks (Axis and HDFC) have been taken. The study found that Organizational commitment has a significant impact on job involvement. Also, gender has no significant difference on job involvement and organizational commitment. Further, it was found that age has no significant difference on Job Involvement while it significantly impacts Organization Commitment. The study investigates the various recommendations that banks should consider to improve organizational commitment and, as a result, increase work involvement.
