Abstract

This study explores how gender impacts perceptions of digital banking services, with a focus on users' attitudes, trust levels, convenience, and behavioural patterns. The objective of the research is to determine if gender plays a significant role in shaping views on the ease of use, security, and reliability of digital banking. Data were gathered from 152 individuals, with a composition of 76.3% males and 23.7% females, predominantly within the 18–25 age range (88.2%). A structured survey consisting of 13 variables was used, and the dependability of the tool was confirmed with a Cronbach’s Alpha score of 0.961, indicating high internal consistency. The data analysis was conducted using frequency distribution and hypothesis testing via SPSS.
The findings indicated that the majority of hypotheses did not demonstrate significant differences based on gender (p > 0.05), implying that male and female participants have comparable perceptions of digital banking. Only one hypothesis, pertaining to the belief that digital banking is time-saving, was found to be statistically significant (p = 0.034). In general, the results suggest that factors such as ease of use, time-saving, and accessibility are crucial for user satisfaction, while trust and security concerns need further attention.
This research enhances the theoretical framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by confirming that perceived usefulness and ease of use are key factors influencing the adoption of digital banking, regardless of gender. Additionally, the findings offer practical recommendations for banks to build trust, streamline the user experience, and foster digital literacy to boost adoption rates.
