Rapid urbanization, climate change, and inadequate drainage systems have significantly increased flood vulnerability in urban areas worldwide. Urban flooding causes severe economic losses, infrastructure damage, environmental degradation, and threats to human life. Flood risk modelling has emerged as an essential tool for predicting flood-prone areas, assessing vulnerabilities, and developing resilient infrastructure systems. This review study examines the application of flood risk modelling techniques and resilient infrastructure development strategies in urban environments. The research discusses hydrological and hydraulic modelling methods, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies, climate change impacts, and sustainable urban drainage systems. The study further evaluates the role of resilient infrastructure, smart city planning, and disaster risk management in minimizing urban flood impacts. Findings indicate that integrated flood risk assessment combined with resilient urban infrastructure significantly reduces flood damage and enhances urban sustainability. The paper concludes that advanced modelling technologies and resilient infrastructure planning are critical for achieving sustainable and climate-resilient urban development.
