Understanding Complex Interactions at the Nanoscale via Nanotoxicology
Keywords:

Despite the transformative promise of nanotechnology, concerns over its effects on the environment and human health are mounting. A crucial branch of toxicology called nanotoxicology is devoted to understanding the complex interactions between nanoparticles and biological systems. By examining the mechanisms underlying nanoparticle toxicity, describing the methodologies used for toxicity assessment, illuminating regulatory initiatives aimed at ensuring the secure use of nanomaterials, this review offers an insightful exploration into the dynamic landscape of nanotoxicology. Due to their minute
size and special features, nanomaterials can interact with living things in novel ways that have never been seen before, potentially causing oxidative stress, inflammation, genotoxicity. This review explores a variety of techniques that help to understand the complex nature of nanoparticle toxicity, including in vitro and in vivo research, omics technology, computational modelling. Furthermore, the development of the regulatory environment and the outlook for nanotoxicology highlight the crucial role that it plays in ensuring the safe and long-term development of nanotechnology.
