Abstract

The contemporary travel booking system has shifted towards the latest online reservation system. This study was undertaken to study the reasons for consumer preference for online booking so that various companies may evolve strategies based on consumer behaviour. This study was undertaken during the years 2015 to 2016. Empirical method was followed for this study with sample size 100 and sampling technique was convenient sampling. Data was collected using a pretested questionnaire from the consumers in Madurai city, TN, India. The data was tabulated using simple ranking analysis. A study was undertaken before starting of the pilot study to assess the clarity of question asked and to assert if the questionnaire required any modification.
