Abstract

This paper examines the broader issue of the gender pay gap in the information technology (IT) sector and proposes strategies for achieving pay equity. Despite improvements in gender equality in the workplace, the IT industry continues to experience a pay gap. This study examines the existing literature in detail, focusing on contributing factors such as job isolation, opacity, and communication dynamics. Using a mix of methods including a literature review, survey and case study, the study seeks to identify successful strategies from innovation and recommends targeted initiatives for the IT sector The ultimate goal is insights that can be developed for IT departments, policy makers and individuals. To provide insight, it is to promote an inclusive and equitable remuneration environment in the IT industry
