Abstract

Contemporary public policy challenges are increasingly complex, interconnected, and
multidimensional. Traditional, discipline-specific approaches to public administration often
fall short in addressing issues that span economic development, social inclusion,
environmental sustainability, technological transformation, and governance reforms. In this
context, interdisciplinary approaches to public policy and administration have emerged as a
vital framework for understanding and managing complex policy problems. This article
examines the Telangana Rising-2047 Vision Document through an interdisciplinary lens,
drawing insights from political science, economics, sociology, psychology, law, public
health, environmental science, information technology, and management studies. Using
qualitative policy analysis and practitioner insights, the study explores how interdisciplinary
perspectives enrich policy design, strengthen implementation mechanisms, and enhance
governance effectiveness. The article argues that Telangana Rising–2047 reflects an
integrated governance vision that aligns long-term development goals with adaptive,
collaborative, and technology-enabled public administration. The study contributes to public

policy literature by demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary analysis in state-level vision
planning and offers practical implications for policymakers, administrators, and researchers.
