Enhancing Authentication Security with Blockchain and Biometrics
Keywords:
Authentication System, Blockchain, Security, BiometricsAbstract
The rapid expansion of digital interactions needs robust and secure authentication mechanisms. Conventional authentication techniques, such as passwords, are susceptible to weaknesses, including cyberattacks and ID fraud. This study introduces an innovative authentication mechanism that integrates blockchain technology with biometric verification to deliver a secure, decentralised and privacy-enhancing solution. By leveraging blockchain immutability and distributed nature alongside the uniqueness of biometric verification, the system removes single points of failure and enhances security and user trust. The paper outlines the system’s architecture, key components, implementation strategies, potential applications and challenges.
