Abstract

The industry is slated to enter the fourth wave of revolution called Industry 4.0, which envisages a plethoric use of devices or physical things connected through the internet. These cyber physical systems are being designed to allow high interactivity and interoperability affected remotely.

The necessity that foundries too emulate such progress and equip themselves to imbibe the use of cyber physical systems is already felt by industrial leaders, and their significant improvements in performance is likely to be a driver to the journey to Foundry 4.0. the trends of modernization in case foundries, which are Foundry 3.0 plus, sketch the trend that in coming times the integrated physical flows of material components and information flows will not be individuals paths, but will get duly coordinated and synchronized as products will be inextricably linked to “their” information. They are thus likely to be more flexible in their approach and sustainable in their objectives.

This present work shows the road map of transformation as to how the integration with information technology (IIT) is slated to facilitate progress to Foundry 4.0
