Abstract

Nowadays the lifestyle and perception of people are different. People feel uncomfortable going to crowded markets and waiting for time-consuming long hours. E-shopping is a boon for the economy as well as for the customer because it saves a lot of time. Online shopping is a process whereby consumers directly buy goods, services, etc. from a seller without an intermediary service over the internet without loss of time. It is one of the emerging trends in the 21st century. Online stores are usually available 24 hours a day and many consumers have internet access both at work and at home. So it is very convenient for them to shop online. The paper studies the concept of online shopping in India, its process, merits and demerits, and the future status of online shopping in India. Data has also been shown regarding the preference of people towards online shopping.
