Abstract

Even though the history of concrete has been centuries old, the theories of concrete are yet to be clearly understood. The conventional concrete still poses a lot of problems regarding sustainability, durability and mechanical properties. Similarly corrosion is one of the major issues in concrete. To delay corrosion in concrete, corrosion inhibitors are widely used now. In this present investigation the effect of calcium stearate corrosion inhibitor on concrete is studied. This study involves the comparative studies of mechanical properties, durability properties for four different dosages (1, 2, 3 and 4 percent) with calcium stearate inhibitor in ordinary and high performance concrete. Corrosion tests were also conducted using Electrical field analyser and Canin Corrosion meter.
