The rapid advancement of quantum computing poses a significant threat to classical cryptographic systems that underpin modern digital infrastructure. Smart cities and Internet of Things (IoT) systems, which rely heavily on secure data processing and communication, are particularly vulnerable to these emerging threats. This paper explores post-quantum secure data structures designed to withstand quantum attacks while maintaining efficiency in resource-constrained environments. It discusses the principles of post-quantum cryptography, types of secure data structures, applications in smart urban systems, advantages, and current challenges. The study highlights the need for transitioning toward quantum-resistant solutions to ensure long-term security in next-generation computing environments.
