The rapid digital transformation of construction and urban infrastructure systems has led to the widespread adoption of cloud computing, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), and smart city technologies. These advancements generate and process vast amounts of sensitive data, including architectural designs, structural models, urban planning data, and real-time sensor information. Ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of such data has become a critical challenge. Traditional security mechanisms primarily protect data at rest and in transit but fail to secure it during computation. Confidential computing addresses this limitation by enabling secure data processing within protected environments. Central to this paradigm are cryptographically secure data structures, which integrate encryption directly into data storage and processing mechanisms. This paper explores the role of these data structures in secure construction and urban systems, discussing their design principles, cryptographic foundations, applications in smart infrastructure, and associated challenges. The study highlights their potential to enhance data security in next-generation urban computing environments.
