Abstract

Dependence on renewable sources of energy is escalating day by day due to scarcity of fossil fuels. Global impacts, like global warming, acid rain, smog, etc., are caused by carbon emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels. Renewable technologies like solar, wind, nuclear have the potential to overcome the energy shortage of developing countries as well as providing a clean source of energy. These are mainly suitable sources for providing electric power services unlikely to be served by electric grid. In this article, efforts have been made to summarize the different characteristics of solar, wind and nuclear energy to generate electricity. Emphasis has been given to find a way out to identify the eccentric means for balancing the environment.
